Leader of the Pack
The Hillis Group started this project by placing erosion controls, including the installation of compost filter socks, inlet protection using concrete blocks, fabric, and stone, erosion control blankets, and the temporary stabilization of topsoil piles with seed and mulch. Demolition activities of the old asphalt and concrete were then carried out. Excavation to subgrade was completed, followed by the importation, spreading, and compaction of fill material. Seeded amended soils and hydroseeding were applied to lawn areas, and grading of building pad subgrades was performed.
Basins were constructed, including an underground detention basin and an infiltration basin. Storm pipes were installed and sewer improvements were made included the installation of 6″ SDR 26 lateral pipes to the building, tying into existing stubs, adding cleanouts, performing line testing, and using stone backfill around the pipes. Water improvements and miscellaneous utilities were also addressed, which involved tying into existing valves.
Landscape improvements and site improvements were made, including installing concrete curbs on-site and for city streets, constructing city and site sidewalks. A 4″ concrete slab was poured for the dog run.
