Columbus Spur Project

In January of 2022, The Hillis Group was contracted to perform a cut out and replacement of approximately 300 LF of 8” natural gas steel pipeline.  The project consisted of replacing a 93’ box sag below a creek bed, 105 LF long bore under an active railroad, and 102 LF of open trenched new pipe.  The job had to be completed within a strict time frame to avoid losing production in the line.  The proximity of the workspace to the railroad posed a unique safety hazard that The Hillis Group was more than capable of handling.  We completed the project with zero incidents and kept the line flowing at full production.
