Dirt Works – Fellowship Road Sink Hole Remediation

The Hillis Group was contracted to mitigate an area of existing pipeline right of way that has been plagued with ditch line subsidence.  This project consisted of removing asphalt driveways and pedestrian walk paths to excavate compromised soils around and under the existing pressurized natural gas pipeline.  Sloping and trench benching was utilized to protect employees working in the open excavations.  Unsuitable soils were legally disposed of off site and engineered soils were installed in controlled compacted lifts to backfill the excavations.  All disturbed areas were restored to their original condition.
